Meta Catalog: Image too small

Error message
Image size in Facebook data feed is too small

What's happening

The image at image_link is below Meta's 500x500 px catalog minimum, so the item is rejected on resolution. This is a distinct rejection from a policy reject (watermark, text overlay, copyrighted): here the pixels are fine, there are just too few of them. Meta rejects below 500x500 and recommends 1024x1024 for catalog and Advantage+ placements, JPEG or PNG, up to 8 MB. Thumbnails, sprite-sheet crops, and downscaled CDN variants are the common culprits.

Manual fix

Source a higher-resolution version of each affected image (1024x1024 or larger), re-export, re-upload to your CDN, then wait for Meta to re-fetch and re-validate. For a large catalog this means re-shooting or upscaling at the source and pushing it back through your CMS or PIM.

Fix it with Emberfeed

Set an image template at 1080x1080 (or larger) on your Meta feed, and Emberfeed renders every product at that size, comfortably above the 500x500 floor. The original CDN image stays untouched. One template configuration lifts the whole catalog past the minimum at once.
