Google Merchant Center: Landing page not working
Landing page not working [link]What's happening
The URL in the link field is genuinely broken, not just uncrawlable. Google reports this when the page returns a 404 (deleted or renamed URL), a 5xx server error, redirects more than twice, or is under construction. This is different from "Item landing page not crawlable", where the page may load for humans but robots.txt or geo-gating blocks Googlebot. Here the page itself does not work, so Google cannot verify price or availability and disapproves the product. A frequent batch cause is a wrong URL prefix exported into link, such as a staging domain.
linkManual fix
Open the affected link URLs and confirm they return HTTP 200, not 404, 5xx, or a redirect chain longer than two hops. Fix routing for renamed or deleted products on the storefront, restore any pages that are down, and verify the feed carries the live production URL rather than a staging or placeholder one. Then request a review in Merchant Center.
Fix it with Emberfeed
A page that genuinely returns 404 or 5xx is a storefront or hosting failure Emberfeed cannot repair, it does not host your product pages. Two things it can genuinely do: a find/replace field rule fixes a systematically wrong URL prefix (for example a staging domain accidentally exported into link), which is a real and common cause of mass 404s and is fully feed-fixable, and a filter rule can exclude products whose pages are known-dead (discontinued SKUs) so a batch of broken URLs does not cascade into an account-level warning while the storefront team fixes routing.
