Google Merchant Center: Landing page not crawlable

Error message
Item landing page not crawlable

What's happening

Google can't reach the URL in the link field. Causes: robots.txt blocks Googlebot, the URL returns 404 or 5xx, redirect chain is too deep, server response is too slow (timeout), or SSL certificate is invalid. Without a crawlable landing page, Google can't verify price, availability, or other product data — so the product is suspended.

Manual fix

Test the URL in incognito. Check robots.txt allows Googlebot specifically. Audit redirect chains. Audit server response times (target <2s).

Fix it with Emberfeed

Emberfeed doesn't directly fix landing-page crawlability — that's your storefront's job. But field rules can identify and exclude problematic products from the served feed before Google fetches them, so disapprovals don't cascade across the catalog.

Catch every Google Merchant Center issue before they do.

Emberfeed validates your feed against Google Merchant Center's rules in real time. Each issue includes a one-click fix or a clear path to the right rule. Free for 6 months on one feed up to 1,000 products.
