Image rules

  • Hard floor: 600×600 px
    Below this is rejected outright. Universal — not tier-dependent.
  • Hard ceiling: 6000×6000 px
    TikTok will reject oversized images.
  • Square recommended
    TikTok crops to square in many surfaces. Doc gives pixel dimensions, not a strict aspect ratio.
  • PNG or JPG only
    Unlike GMC and Meta, no other formats accepted.
  • No watermarks
    Brand logos used as watermarks are rejected. Stricter than Meta.
  • No pixelation, no B&W
    Colour required. Low-resolution sources get rejected.
  • Product fills ≥80% of frame
    Product centred, fills majority of the visible area.
  • Up to 9 images per product
    ≥5 high-resolution images qualifies for "Good" tier (the count + quality threshold, not pixel thresholds).

Common pitfalls

  • Reusing watermarked product photos from Instagram — TikTok rejects them.
  • Submitting only one image when category requires multiple angles (footwear, jewelry). Even meeting the 600×600 floor, count matters for tier.
  • Conflating TikTok Shop product upload (seller dashboard) with TikTok Ads catalog feed — the two products have overlapping but not identical field requirements.
